Aryana Patel
Founder, President & Lead Tutor
Inspired by her passion for health equity and public health and by her own experience receiving academic support during recovery from a health-related setback, Aryana founded Mind of a Warrior to provide students living with sickle cell disease with consistent academic and peer support. Aryana leads the organization's growth by recruiting and mentoring volunteer tutors, building partnerships with healthcare organizations, and continuously improving the program through parent and student feedback. Under her leadership, Mind of a Warrior has provided hundreds of hours of free virtual tutoring to students across the nation and partnered numerous healthcare organizations such as The Connecticut Chapter of The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, the New York-Presbyterian/ Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Pediatric Sickle Cell Program, and the Yale New Haven Pediatric Sickle Cell Program to expand access to educational support for families. Outside of Mind of a Warrior, Aryana is a senior at Simsbury High School, a varsity field hockey player, and a volunteer at Healing Meals Community Project. Through every role she takes on, she is driven by the belief that empathy, research, and service can create lasting change.

Radha B.
English and Math Tutor
Radha is a senior in high school. Outside of school, Radha loves spending time with family and friends, skiing, playing tennis, and volunteering. Her favorite school subjects are Business and English. She loves being a Mind of a Warrior tutor because she enjoys helping others and believes everyone deserves equal learning opportunities. She aspires to attend college and pursue a career in business in the future. A fun fact about Radha is that she used to play the saxophone!

Ayla G.
Math, Science & English Tutor
Ayla is a senior in high school. Outside of school, Ayla loves spending time with her friends and family, going swimming, playing tennis, and doing arts and crafts. Her favorite school subjects are English and Science. She loves being a Mind of a Warrior tutor because she enjoys working with others and hopes to help as many kids as possible fall in love with learning and achieve their full potential. She aspires to study psychology in college and pursue a career in healthcare or business. She looks forward to all that she and her students can accomplish together!

Akshaya A.
Math, Science & English Tutor
Akshaya is a sophomore in high school. Her favorite subjects are English and science. Apart from being a straight-A student, she is the vice president of her grade’s student council and participates in HOSA, Model UN, cross country, and track. Outside of school, she enjoys singing in her school choir, Bharatanatyam dance, playing piano, running, and spending time with family and friends. She became a Mind of a Warrior tutor because she knows how beneficial a supportive mentor can be, and she wants to help students feel encouraged to do their best. In the future, she hopes to study biology and pursue a career in medicine. A fun fact about Akshaya is that music is a big part of her life, and she is always looking for new songs to listen to!

Angelina L.
English Tutor
Angelina is a senior in high school. Angelina is passionate about connecting with others and empowering her peers, which led her to join the Mind of a Warrior team. Her favorite subject is English, and she loves sharing this passion with her students. When she's not tutoring, you can find her walking, listening to music, or trying new foods.

Adithya K.
Math Tutor
Adithya is a senior in high school who enjoys playing a variety of sports with friends. He became a Mind of a Warrior tutor because he wanted to be part of an organization that helps students succeed. In addition to tutoring 4th–8th grade students in Python, he has worked with children with special needs at Camp Sunrise and serves as an assistant teacher at his Hindu Sunday School, where he works with young children.

Ruchitha Bonagiri
English and Math Tutor
Ruchitha is a junior in high school whose favorite subjects are science, English, and math. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, playing pickleball, and dancing. She is involved in her school's Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) chapter and several other science and health-related clubs. She became a Mind of a Warrior tutor because she has been told she is a patient teacher and wanted to share her knowledge with students who could benefit from extra support. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in the medical field so she can continue helping others.

Sreeya is a junior in high school who is passionate about helping others succeed. She enjoys running track and playing the piano in her free time. She is actively involved in HOSA and student council. She became a Mind of a Warrior tutor because she wanted to encourage students to build confidence in their learning and reach their full potential. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in the medical field!

Shashank Sreenivas
English and Math Tutor
Shashank is a sophomore in high school. Shashank enjoys playing a variety of sports, including pickleball, volleyball, and cricket, and is also an active member of his school's robotics program. His favorite subjects are math and science, and he enjoys helping students build confidence in those areas while also providing support in English. He became a Mind of a Warrior tutor because he loves helping others learn and succeed. He has experience tutoring elementary and upper elementary students, assisting them with homework and answering questions based on their individual needs. In the future, he hopes to pursue a career in the medical field and become a physician. Outside of academics, he enjoys playing esports video games and hopes to continue playing pickleball in college.

Harshitha S.
Language Arts Tutor
Harshitha is a senior in high school. In her free time, Harshitha likes to paint and read. In school, she has always loved history and social sciences and has received an award from UConn Avery Point for her participation. Some of the clubs she is in include Mock Trial, Theatre, Baking Club, and Science Olympiad. Harshitha decided to become a Mind of a Warrior tutor because she likes to teach others and wanted to strengthen her abilities to do that. She also loves to see the growth a student has over time and being able to connect with them. A fun fact is that she has been doing Taekwondo for over a decade.
